KUALA LUMPUR – After lodging a police report over the NexG Berhad scandal, Malaysia Corruption Watch (MCW) has submitted a memorandum to the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Datuk Abu Hanifah Noordin, urging him to proceed with an internal investigation into Victor Chin, who served as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

MCW president Jais Abdul Karim said this is crucial to prevent Abu Hanifah and the current management of the company—responsible for supplying MyKad, MyTentera and MyPOCA (new structure) for the National Registration Department (JPN)—from being perceived as protecting alleged misconduct.
“As a company that supplies various critical national documents to the public, NexG must avoid integrity and misconduct issues by clarifying to the public the long-standing scandal involving Victor Chin.
“Not only NexG shareholders, but the public also has the right to accurate and truthful information regarding the various allegations of misconduct involving Victor Chin, as taxpayers’ money is channelled to NexG through these supply contracts,” he said.
The memorandum submission involves serious allegations of misappropriation of company funds amounting to RM303.7 million during the period when Victor Chin Boon Long held the position of COO of NexG Bhd, from around November 2024 to September 2025.
Recently, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan described Victor Chin Boon Long as a ‘corporate devil’ in a special press conference, denying his involvement in the ‘Corporate Mafia’ scandal.
The controversy also revolves around share transactions in MMAG Holdings Bhd involving Victor Chin’s wife, Chan Swee Ying, who was reported to have disposed of a 9.53 per cent stake (220 million shares) worth RM88.22 million to NexG Bhd.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail previously confirmed that authorities are tracking Victor Chin following allegations of his involvement in a forced corporate takeover syndicate.
